About

Matilde Battisti is a self-taught ceramicist born in Italy.

She grew up among the arts, daughter of an architect and an ancient art enthusiast.

Her drive to travel led her to live in the UK for 6 years after graduating in Translation and Interpreting in Pisa. She followed her passion for the arts exploring figurative drawing among other techniques, but she lastly fell in love with clay and its plasticity. Working with play proved to be pretty natural for her, a material that is alive and ever changing. 

She now creates in her studio in Barcelona, Spain.
